Content and Social Media Manager

You need to be able to write, and write well, to get this job as writing is the basis of all that you'll be doing in this role.

The Content & Social Media Manager has a thorough understanding of social media marketing and should have 3 or more years experience working on social media content plans, article writing and social media management.

The candidate should have completed college or university in a relevant field.

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Job Description

  • Social Media
    • Set up accounts, design mast heads, create look and feel for new accounts across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc
    • Understand Facebook Business Manager suite of products very well
    • Create content plan, with posts written out in accordance with client’s brief
    • Create briefs for client work
    • Schedule posts in HootSuite
    • Work with Meltwater (advantageous)
    • Create competitions that meet client’s brief and goals
    • Research and write blogs in accordance with client expectations
    • Research relevant forums and post accordingly
    • Tracking of results
    • Reporting
  • Video
    • Write scripts as needed
    • Come up with video ideas as needed
  • Promoting Posts
    • Set up paid campaigns
    • Do keyword research
    • Understand the goals – traffic or sales?
    • Tracking of results
    • Targeting and audience creation
    • Geotargeting
    • Reporting
  • Website
    • Write content for websites
    • Do keyword research
    • Create brief based on client’s goals and objectives
  • Writing
    • Research and write in accordance with client expectations
    • Keyword research
  • Research of Trends
    • Stay up to date with latest trends in digital and content marketing
    • Share trends with the team
  • Design
    • Create designs in Canva if needed
  • PR
    • Send out PR as requested by team or client
    • Research and write in accordance with client expectations
  • Influencer marketing
    • Knowledge of influencer marketing campaigns advantageous
    • Meltwater knowledge advantageous
  • Email
    • Use MailChimp to design emails
    • Research and write in accordance with client expectations
    • Send out
    • Track
    • Reporting
  • Additional digital marketing requirements as needed

Personal Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, plus Google, email and social marketing platforms
  • Meltwater, Canva, Hootsuite all advantageous
  • Creative writing expertise
  • Good knowledge of online marketing, search engines, websites, social media and marketing
