Who We Are
Shift ONE is a creative, integrated marketing agency based out of Cape Town South Africa that delivers world-class service, creative strategies, and marketing campaigns to our clients, both big and small, around the world.
We are specialists in using a unique mix of both traditional and digital marketing channels in order to achieve our client's goals and suit their budgets.
We are a one-stop-shop so you don’t have to deal with 5 different companies – only one key strategic digital account manager who will manage our team of staff members, in order to get you the results you want.
Our Story
Shift ONE was started in 2011 by Dylan Kohlstadt, Founder and CEO. After 15 years in corporate marketing, Dylan went on her own and started a marketing agency that specialises in GETTING CUSTOMERS for our clients.
From working at her kitchen table to running her team from the Garage co-working space to taking offices at the Barn to relocating to their offices by the sea at Eden on the Bay, Shift ONE has grown from strength to strength in a very short space of time.
ABOUT DYLAN KOHLSTADT
Dylan Kohlstadt is a seasoned entrepreneur, innovator, and marketing technology expert who currently resides in Germany. With over a decade of experience in the technology industry, Dylan Kohlstadt has become a leading voice in the African marketing space, advocating for digital transformation and innovation across the continent.
Dylan Kohlstadtis the founder and CEO of Shift ONE, a full-service digital marketing agency that helps businesses harness the power of technology to drive growth and achieve their goals. Under Dylan's leadership, Shift ONE has grown into a successful and award-winning agency, working with clients across various industries.
In addition to her entrepreneurial pursuits, Dylan is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on digital marketing and digital transformation, regularly presenting at conferences and events across the continent. She is also passionate about mentoring and supporting young entrepreneurs and is involved in various initiatives aimed at developing and nurturing entrepreneurs and digital marketers in Africa.
Dylan holds a diploma in Sales and Marketing from WitsTech and an MBA from the University of South Africa. She is a dynamic and visionary leader, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible and driving innovative marketing in the African and global tech space.
ABOUT MICHAEL WIMPEY
Michael Wimpey is the COO of Shift ONE Digital. Michael joined Shift ONE in 2019 but worked with Dylan since 2011 when Shift ONE was founded, as an outsourced creative graphic designer and web developer.
Michael Wimpey is a Creative Director and Digital Operations genius who has established and managed creative agencies himself, as well as managed multi-million dollar projects across Africa.
Michael is a design engineer, someone who can solve communication challenges using graphic design. He is also a technology wiz, who loves understanding and implementing marketing technology to deliver great results, from CRM software to website design and development, Michael is a true marketing technologist.
Michael is passionate about staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the digital marketing space and is constantly learning and experimenting to deliver the best possible results for his clients. He is also a skilled communicator and relationship builder, with a proven track record of developing strong partnerships with clients and colleagues alike.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of South Africa and has completed various certifications in digital marketing and related fields. He is a dynamic and results-driven professional who is dedicated to helping businesses thrive in the digital age.
Awards and Stuff
Dylan Kohlstadt graduated top of her class from the VeloCiTi Y incubation programme, sponsored by the Bandwidth Barn, and was also fortunate to attend a two-week Blackbox.VC immersion programme in Silicon Valley, sponsored by Google for Entrepreneurs.
She was also a finalist in the National Gazelles programme for entrepreneurs and an award winner in the NSBC Small Business Awards.
